(I do not own the video content. This is a fan promo video I created for the Michigan football season back in 2018.)
I grew up watching University of Michigan football and basketball. I became a UofM sports fan from watching an amazing running back named Jamie Morris when I was a kid in the 80s. In the spirit of the College Football season, I gave myself a sample challenge.
****CHOP ARTISTRY CHALLENGE****
My challenge was to take the school fight song, "Hail To The Victors" update it, and breath new life into it. I wanted to create something that would be cool to hear a marching band play to hype up the crowd during football and basketball games!
14KT - "Go Bluue!!"
I posted an instagram video of me playing the beat. Fans reposted and tagged the beat video so much, that the University of Michigan reached out to me. I was excited. At first, I thought they actually were going to ask to use it for crowd music at ball games, but it was for a different reason. The University of Michigan School of Music, Theatre & Dance wanted to use in a piece to celebrate National Dance Day amongst the students.
