Before I wrote my first rhyme or made a beat, the energy of Hiphop music and Breakdancing is what caught my attention. As a kid, I even tried to breakdance, but I wasn't that good, so my career was VERY short lived. Back then, I just wanted to be a part of the culture because it was exciting, inspiring, and it gave me confidence to be more expressive within myself.
Recently, I had the opportunity and honor to provide music for the mini - documentary, ‘Breaking Boundaries’ produced by Samsung and David “Kid David” Shreibman about breaking in celebration of the debut of breakdancing in the Olympic Games Paris 2024! As the breakers get ready to take the stage in Paris, this short film tells the story of the journey of the breakdancing community from the streets and to the olympic games.
When I sent in music for the documentary, I thought about beats I've created throughout the years that the breakdancing community always embraced from me and hoped to include those in such a historical moment.
Thank you Samsung and Kid David for allowing me to be a part of this art piece.
Thank you Blue Ox for the amazing job capturing the vision!
Wow!
