🔊 Miz Korona "42 (Jackie Rob)" ft. Guilty Simpson
Ayo! I finally got to connect with my Detroit sister Miz Korona on a banger. Shout out to my brotha Guilty Simpson on the joint too!
“Honestly the song came about after commenting under a post from DJ House shoes saying he didn’t want people rapping over his beats without his approval.” “I’ve known Shoes for years so I jokingly said I’m rapping over all that shit and some random guy responded like “Don’t wit yo old ass” that immediately struck a nerve and I was on go from there.”
- Miz Korona
This is the video I caught one day of Miz Korona rhyming. Obviously, somebody must have said something to put a battery in her back cause she was barring up! I didn't even know about the comments that led up to the verse yet.
Hearing her rhyme at that moment inspired me to make a beat for her. I immediately took the audio off this video and started cooking a beat based off that verse - which ended up actually being her first verse in the song "42". This was one of those rare moments where I made the beat in maybe 15-20 mins. It usually takes me hours to make a beat I like. After I felt like I had something for her, I sent Miz Korona a video from my phone playing her verse over the beat I created.
She went crazy.
She loved it so much that she wanted to go to the studio to actually record her the verse and add a second verse too. Dope. When I got the newer version back from her, it had my brotha Guilty Simpson on there too. That was a ill surprise. We released it right before her 43rd birthday.
One of the Queens in this rap game!!
