"Taking Ls" is an album from artist Ozay Moore (formerly Othello 1/3rd of LightHeaded), entirely produced by 14KT.
"The first record we ever recorded together was "Bloom" in 2007. For the next six years, we both dealt with the ups and downs of life which delayed our progress. However, we still continued to work on this collaborative effort. The title of the album came from our telephone conversations about life when we would catch up with each other. We would both talk about the blessings of life, but also share the struggles we were going through at the time. The phrase "Taking an L(oss)" would always come up in our conversations. We realized it and thought it was the perfect title to describe how we felt at the time." -14KT
The rooted concept of this record is that not every loss you take in life is negative. As this concept propels the album forward, the genius of Ozay Moore (along with the efficiency of 14KT’s production) is in the way he combines the hard-hitting elements of hip-hop with reflections on his life and how the world has changed since he first became an artist.
